WHEREAS, there has been this day presented to the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach, a certain application to
the Metropolitan Water District requesting that the corporate
area of the City of Newport Beach be annexed to, incorporated in,
and made a part of the Metropolitan Water District as a municipal
member thereof, and
WHEREAS, it is the opinion and judgment of the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach that it would be for the
best interest of said City that said City be annexed to, incorporat-
ed in, and made a part of the Metropolitan Water District, in order'.
that the water supplk of said City may be made safe and certain.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be authorized, instructed and
directed to make a formal application on behalf of the City of
Newport Beach to the said Metropolitan Water District, for
membership in said Water District in the manner provided for by
law.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach execute and sign said applica-
tion on behalf of the City of Newport Beach, in quadruplicate,
and that the City Clerk of said City send said application, in
quadruplicate, to the Metropolitan Water District at Los Angeles,
Calif ornia.
I hereby certify that the above and foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council
