WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach in Orange County,
•

California, haw. and maintaize an auxiliary police force and an
4
auxiliary fire department force; and
5
WHEREAS said auxiliary policemen and auxiliary firemen
6
work for the City of Newport Beach in times of emergency and when
7
called upon to do police work or fire work by the respective chiefs
8
of thsir departments; and
9
WHEREAS, such auxiliary police and auxiliary fire depart -
10
ment work are of utmost importance and benefit to the City of
11
Newport Beach; and
12
WHEREAS, said auxiliary policemen and auxiliary firemen
13
work without compensation; and
14
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the
15
City of Newport Beach that such auxiliary police and auxiliary
16
fire department workers be fully covered by the State Compensation
17
Insurance Fund,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the State Compensa-
19
tion Insurance Fund cover such auxiliary policemen and auxiliary
20
firemen with full coverage, including insurance benefits for
21
injury, accident or death caused while performing work for the
22
City of Newport Beach as auxiliary policemen or auxiliary firemen;
23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that.the Mayor and City Clerk of
24
the City of Newport Beach be authorized, directed and instructed
25
to sign all necessary contracts covering the subject matter
26
hereof with the State Compensation Insurance Fund in the name of
.

and on behalf of the City of Newport Beach;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this

Resolution be sent to the State Compensation Insurance Fund by
30
the City Olerk of the City of Newport Beach,
