RESOLUTION 1I0. d S
WHEREAS, there has this day been presented to the City
Council of the City of Nevroort Beach a certain agreement of ex-
change, dated the 12th day of September, 1947, wherein the City of
Newport Beach has agreed to exchange the Southeasterly 65 feet of
Lot Twenty -three in Block One Hundred Thirty -four of Lake Tract,
City of Newrport Beach, California, for the Northwesterly 30 feet
of Lot Twenty -four in Bloc:i One Hundred Thirty -four of Lake Tract,
City of Newport Beach, California; and
WHEREAS, the property belongin; to the City of Newport
Beach is valued in such exchange at $1000.00, and the property for
which they intend to exchange is valued at $1000.00; and
WHEREAS, Herman Pieper and Lena Pieper, husband and wife,
are the owners of the property which said City intends to exchange
for; and
TMREAS, the City needs said property owned by Herman Pieper
and Lena Pieper, husband and wife, for the widening of Coast Boule-
vard; and
WHEREAS) the City Council believes that the considerations
mentioned in said exchange are fair, just and adequate, and that
it is for the best interests of said City and the inhabitants
thereof that said exchange be made;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Ci:ty Clerk
of the City of Newport Beach be authorized, directed and instructed
to sign said exchange agreement dated the 12th day of September,
1947, wherein the City of Newport Beach is therein referred to as
First Party, and Herman Pieper and Lena Pieper, husband and wife,
are therein designated Second Party; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that when said exchange agreement
has been signed that the same be deposited by the City Clerk as
lescrow instructions for the exchange of the properties herein de-
scribed, with the Orange County Title Company of Santa Ana, Cali-
