WHEREAS,
there
has this day been presented to the City

Council of the
City
of Newport Beach a certain corporation grant

deed dated the
12th
day of September, 1947, wherein the City of

Newport Beach
grants
and conveys to Herman Pieper and Lena Pieper,
6 husband and wife, as joint tenants, that certain real property
7 situate in the City of Newport Beach,.County of Orange, State of
8 California, and described as follows, to -wit:
9 The Southeasterly 65 feet of Lot Twenty -three
10 in Block One Hundred Thirty -four of "Lake Tract,
11 Newport Beach", as shown on a Ilap recorded in
12 Book 4, page 13 of Miscellaneous IA -0s, records
13 of Orange County, California.
14 Subject to covenants, conditions, reservations,
15 restrictions and rights of way of record.
16 Subject also to taxes for fiscal year 1947-
17 1948, not yet payable.
18 and,
19 WHEREAS the consideration to be received for said deed
20 from the said Herman Pieper and Lena Pieper, husband and wife, is
21 the granting to the City of Newn_ort Beach, free and clear of all
22 encumbrance, that certain real property situate in the City of
23 Newport Beach, Orange County, California, and described as follows:
24 The Northwesterly 30 feet of Lot Twenty -four in
25 Block One Hundred Thirty -Four of Lake Tract, as
26 shown on a liap recorded in Book 4, page 13 of
27 kiiscellaneous I.Iaps, records of Orange County,
28 California.

30 YHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach needs said property last
31 described for the purpose of widening Coast Boulevard in the City
32 of Newport Beach, Orange County, California; and

WHEREAS, the consideration offered for said lands first
above described to the City of Nevrport Beach is in the opinion and
judgment of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, fair,
just and adequate and not disproportionate to its actual market
value; and
WHEREAS) it is the opinion and judgment of the City Council
of the City of Nen-port Beach that it is for the best interests of
said City that said land be conveyed by said City to Herman Pieper
and Lena Pieper, husband and wife, as joint tenants, for the con-
sideration herein set forth;
NOVI THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 1.iayor and City
Clerk of the City of Newport Beach be authorized, directed and
instructed to execute said deed for and on behalf of the City of
Newport Beach, and that the same be immediately recorded when
title shall be brought down on the property owned by Herman Pieper)
and Lena Pieper, husband and wife, showing the same to be clear
and free of all encumbrances, except taxes for the fiscal year
1947 -48, not yet due or payable.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City
of Newp rt Beach at a regular meeting of the City Council held
