Pursuant to the provisiorisJof Section 864 of Act x,233,
General Laws of the State of California, entitled "An Act to
• Provide for the Organisation, Incorporation and Government of ,
Municipal Corporations, approved Marcti.13, 1883 ", relating to
Municipal Corporations of the Sixth Class, as amended, the City
Council of the City.of Newportl4ach does hereby resolve and
order as follows:
SECTION 1'9 Section 2 of ;resolution 34070 heretofore
passed by the City Council of Newport 3each on the 12th day of
November, 1946s is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 2s All salaries, wades and allowances,: if.wny,
which are payablo on.a monthly basis, as hereinabove provided,
shall be due and payable as followss the salaries and wages earned
during the semi - monthly period from the first to the fifteenth day,
inclusive, of a c8,endar month shall be due and payable on the
twenty -fifth day of the calendar month in which the salariesnd
wa.-es are earned and in which the right to allowance accrued; and
the salaries and wages earned during the semi - monthly period Prom
the sixteenth to the last day, inclusive, of a calendar month
shall be due and payable on the tenth day of the atendar month
immediately following the particular calendar month in which the
salaries and wages were earned and in which the ri;ht to allowance
accrued,"
SECTION 2: Section 4 of said Hesolution No. 3407,
heretofore passed by the City Council of Newport Beach on the 12th
day of November, 1946, is hereby amended to read as follows:
• "Section 4: All departmental payrolls or departrental
• attendance records must be duly certified for payment, or approved by
the respective department heads as to the employees Ir. their
respective departments and delivered to the City Auditor not later
than nine days prior to the time fixed for payment thereof.
