RESOLUTION NO. 3636
GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, has received a written petition for the annexation of
that certain uninhabited territory hereinafter- described contig-
uous to the present City boundaries of the City of Newport Beach,
said petition containing a description of the said territory
sought to be included within the said City of Newport Beach,
signed by the owners of not less than three - fourths of the area
of the land of said territory, and representing not less than
three - fourths of the said value of said territory according to
the last preceding Equalized Assessment Roll of the County of
Orange, the County in which said territory is situated, said
petition is presented and filed pursuant to an act of the legis-
lature of the State of California, commonly known and designated as,
"Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939 ", as amended; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of said statute, the City
Council must, without delay, pass a resolution giving notice of
such proposed annexation;
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, as follows:
Section 1. That the boundaries of the territory proposed
to be annexed to the City of Newport Beach, California, are
as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Easterly boundary of
the City of Newport Beach, California, with the center line
of the California State Highway from Corona del Mar to
Laguna Beach as described in a deed recorded in Book 559, p,
102 of Deeds, records of Orange County, California, said
intersection being at Highway Station 203 plus 65 and runnk
thence Northerly along said Easterly boundary of Newport
Beach and along the center line of Buck Gully North 350 24'
30" East, 48.30 feet; thence North 30 49' East, 137.00 feet
thence North 410 39' 30" East, 177.95 feet; thence North
130 54' 30" West, 81.56 feet- thence North 410 39' East,
117.85 feet; thence North 226 26' East, 84.92 feet; thence
North 450 32' 30" East, 160.94 feet; thence North 180 04'
30" East, 72.30 feet; thence North 480 37' East, 46.88 feet
thence South 770 29' East, 99.85 feet; thence North 250 48'

264.84 feet; thence South 800 52' West, 259.97 feet; thence
South 430 22' 00" West, 309.97 feet, more or less, to an
intersection with the center line of said State Highway;
thence North 58 38' West, along said center line of State
Highway and along the Northeasterly boundary line of the
City of Newport Beach, 1300.46 feet, more or less to the
point of beginning.
Section 2. That said territory is designated as that
parcel of land lying Northeasterly of Buck Gully and Northerly of
the State Highway and adjacent to that portion of the City known
as Corona del Mar and containing approximately 51.5 acres.
Section 3. Notice is hereby given that on the 13th day of
December, 1948, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. of said date, in tk
chambers of the City Council, located in the City Hall of the City
of Newport Beach, California, is the time and the place when any
person owning real property in the territory proposed to be annexed
and having any objection to the proposed annexation may appear befox
said City Council and show cause why said territory should not be
so annexed, the aforesaid hearing being not less than fifteen (15)
nor more than forty (40) days from the date of passage of this
resolution.
Section 4. The City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach
Icause a copy of this resolution to be published at least once a
lweek for two successive weeks, prior to the hearing, in the Newport-
Balboa Press, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the
City of Newport Beach, California.
