RESOLUTION ORDERING WORK NO. 3640
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA
ORDERING THE WORK DESCRIBED IN
RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 3631
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California,
pursuant to the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being
Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, does resolve as follows:
That the public interest and convenience require the work
hereinafter mentioned to be done and therefore the said City Council
hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to be
made in said City, to -wit:
The construction or remodelling of two existing sewage
pumping stations in the first alley lying North of South Bay Front,
known as South Speedway (Balboa Island), near Sapphire Avenue and
Jade.Avenue, and the installation of new pumps, motors, electrical
equipment, conduits, floats, cast iron pipes, valves, fittings and
appurtenances, and the construction of a cast iron pipe pressure
line, together with appurtenant work in connection with any and all
items of improvement hereinabove mentioned, all as more particularl}
described in Resolution of Intention No. 3631, passed and adopted b}
the City Council of said City on the 25th day of October, 1948 and
on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said
Resolution of Intention No. 3631 and to the plans, profiles and
drawings on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of
Newport Beach, and to the specifications for the said work heretofol
adopted by the said City Council and on file in the office of the
City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings
and specifications heretofore approved by the City Council of said
City are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference
is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said woi

Said City Council has determined and declared that the
contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in the
opinion of said City Council, of more than local or ordinary public
benefit, and the said City Council has made the expenses of said
work chargeable upon a district. For the particular description of
said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of
Intention No. 3631.
Said City Council has determined and declared that serial
bonds, representing unpaid assessments and bearing interest at the
rate of five per cent (5 %) per annum, shall be issued hereunder in
the manner provided by the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915 ", being
Division 10 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Calif-
ornia, the last installment of which bonds shall mature two (2)
years from the second day of July next succeeding ten (10) months
from their date.
All the work herein ordered shall be done and carried thr
in pursuance of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California
designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Division VII of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
The Clerk of said City is hereby directed to post conspicu-
ously for five (5) days on or near the chamber door of the City Coun
cil, in the manner and form required by said Code, a Notice Inviting
Sealed Proposals or Bids for doing the work herein ordered, and the
City Clerk is hereby directed to publish twice in "Newport- Balboa
lPress ", a weekly newspaper, published and circulated in said City
and hereby designated by the said City Council for that purpose,
a Notice inviting such proposals or bids for doing the said work and
(referring to the specifications on file.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
IlBeach, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 22nd day
lof November, 1948, by the following vote, to -wit:
AYES: Councilmen Greeley, Robertson Isbell,_
NOES: Councilmen None
ABSENT: Councilmen None
