HomeMy WebLinkAbout3724 - Awarded Contract for Resolution 3706 WorkY 1 2' • 3 4 5 • 0 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16i 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 I q RESOLUTION OF AY.ARD OF CONTRACT NO. 3724 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE WORK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 3706 RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, having in open session on the 29th day of August, 1949, publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed proposals or bids for the following work to be done and improvements to be made in said City, to -wit: The grading, paving with 2 -inch plant mix material laid upon a 5 -inch untreated rock base, installation of house sewer connections and water connections, cement concrete curb, together with appurtenant work in connection with any and all items of improvement hereinabove mentioned, in a portion of "M" Street and certain alleys in East Side Addition to Balboa Tract and Tracts Nos. 518, 948, and 1090, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 3706, passed and adopted by the City Council of said City on the 11th day of July, 1949, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 3706 and to the plans, profiles and drawings on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Newport Beach and to the specifications for the said work heretofore adopted by the said City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, pro- files, drawings and specifications heretofore approved by the City Council of said City are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular descrip- tion of said work. -1- 1 2I3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17'. 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 • 28 • 29 30 31 32 1,0 Said City Council has determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in the opinion of said City Council, of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and the said City Council has made the expenses of said work chargeable upon a district. For the particular description of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 3706. Said Council has determined and declared that serial bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6 %) per annum and ex- tending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th following their date, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Part 5, Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent each assessment of Twenty -five Dollars ($25,00) or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of the warrant. All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code. Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said propo Ior bids, except the next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for the said work and improvement to the lowest, regu land responsible bidder, to -wit: To Sull Miller Contracting Co. at the prices named in its bid for said work, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
