RESOLUTION OF TBE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA,
AWARDING TFt`CONTR4CT FOR THE 4ORK
DESCRIBED -1N RESOLUTION OF INITENTION
NO. 4000.
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, having in open session on the 11th day of Sep-
tember, 1951, publicly opened, examined -end declared all sealed
proposals or bias for the follo,ing work to be done and improve-
ments- to be made in said City, to -r7it:
The construction and installation of a street lighting
system, consisting of cement concrete posts or standards (Y'arbelitei
design No. 43 -D4), each equipped with one luminaire including 2500
lumen incandescent lamps, using 5000 volt Thermoplastic Cable in-
stalled in galvanized iron pipe conduit, and appurtenant *.pork in
connection therewith, in that certain public easement ovined by the
City of Newport Beach over, along and across Lots A, B and C of
Tract No. 1011, as per map recorded in Miscellaneous I -Tap Book 36,
,pages 37 to 40 inclusive, Records of Orange County, California, all
as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 4000,
passed and adopted by the City Council of said City on the 9th day
of July, 1951, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City.
For further particulars, reference is hereby made to saidi
Resolution of Intention No. 4000 and to the plans and drawings No.
435 on file in the office-of the City Engineer of said City of New-
port Beach, and to the specifications for the said work heretofore
adopted by the said City Council and on file in the office of the
City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, drawings and speci-
fications heretofore approved by the City Council of said City are
incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby
made thereto for a more particular description,of said work.

Said City Council has determined and declared that the

contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned . ,ras, in the

opinion of said City Council, of more than local or ordinary publi
4
benefit, and the City Council has made the expenses of said work
5
chargeable upon an district. For the p rticular description of ssi

district, reference is hereby made to said "Resolution of Intention

Said Codncil has determined and declared that serisl

bonds, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6 %) per annum
10
and eytending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second
11
day of January next succeeding the next October 15th following thei
12
i date, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the "Im-
13
provement Act of 1911 ", being Part 5, Division VII of the Streets
14
and Highiiays Code of the State of California, to represent each as-
15
sessment of Twenty -five Dollars (:x25.00) or more remaining unpaid
16
for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant.

All of the work herein ordered shall be.dene and carried
18
through in pursuance of an act .of he legislature of the State of
19
California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Divisio
20
VII of the Streets and highways Code.

Said City Council hereby, rejects all of the said proposal
22
or bids, except the next.hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards
23
the contract for the said work and improvement to the lowest, red;-
24
ular and responsible bidder, to- :•rit: To HARRY F. BR,7PNTR at the
25
pricey named in bid for said work, on file in the office of the
28
City Clerk of said City.

The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause a
28
NOTICE OF A'•lARD OF CONTRACT to be published in the manner and form
29
required by said Code, by two insertions in the "Newport - En-
30
sign ", a. weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of
31
Newport Beach and hereby designated for the purpose by said City
32
Council.
