HomeMy WebLinkAbout4165 - Alley Improvements1 • 2 3 • 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 • 28 • 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION OF AWARD OF CONTRACT NO. 4165 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE WORK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION N0. 4126 RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, California, having in open session on the 9th day of November, 1953 publicly opened, examined and declared all sealed proposals or bids for the following work to be done and improve- ments to be made in said city, to wit: The grading, paving with plant mix material, of house sewer and water connections, reinforced concrete pipe an corrugated metal pipe storm drains, catch basins, outlets and appurtenant work in connection therewith in certain alleys and easements lying Southwesterly of Coast Boulevard, between Avocado Avenue and Poppy Avenue (Corona Del Mar), all as more particularl described in Resolution of Intention No. 4126, passed and adopted by the City Council of said city on the 14th day of September, 1953 and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city. For further particulars, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 4126 and to the plans, profiles and drawings It. 438, on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City of Newport Beach, and to the specifications for the said work heretofore adopted by the said City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city, and all of said plans, profiles, drawings and specifications heretofore approved by the City Council of said city are incorporated herein and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said work. Said Council has determined and declared that serial bonds, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum and extending over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th 13` 1 • 2 3 • 4 5 6 • 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 following their date, will be issued hereunder in the manner pro- vided by the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Part 5, Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent each assessment of twenty -five dollars ($25.00) or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant. All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code. Said City Council hereby rejects all of the said pro- posals or bids, except the next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for the said work and improvement to the lowest, regular and responsible bidder, to wit: To Sully- Miller Contracting Co. at the prices named in said bid for said work, on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city. The City Clerk of said city is hereby directed to cause a NOTICE OF AWARD OF CONTRACT to be published in the manner and form required by said Code, by two insertions in the "Newport - Balboa Press ", a weekly newspaper published and circulated in the City of Newport Beach and hereby designated for the purpose by the said City Council.
