A RWOLUTIO14 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARINO ITS INTENTION TO
CALL A SPECIAL ELECTION IN CERTAIN INHABITED
TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS TO SAID CITY PROPOSED TO
BE ANNEXED THERETO, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS RESIDING IN SAID TERRI-
TORY THE QUESTION WHETHER OR NOT SAID TERRITORY
SHALL BE ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, AND
FIXING A TIME AND PLACE WHEN AND WHERE ANY PERSON
OWNING REAL PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITORY MAY
APPEAR BEFORE SAID CITY COUNCIL AND SHOW CAUSE
WHY SUCH TERRITORY SHOULD NOT BE SO ANNEXED
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach:
SECTION 1: That it is the intention of the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach to call a special election to be
held on the ZG ' day of Yk a�"� , 195_7,_, in certain
inhabited territory contiguous to said city, proposed to be annexm
thereto, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors
residing in said territory the question whether or not said
territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part
of the City of Newport Beach and the property in the territory
subjected to taxation after annexation equally with property
within the City of Newport Beach to pay the entire bonded
Indebtedness of the City of Newport Beach outstanding or authori
at the date of the first publication of the Notice of Election
for Annexation, for the acquisition, construction, or completion
of municipal improvements.
Said territory is described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the boundary line of the City
of Newport Beach, said point being the southwest corner of Lot
1213 as shown upon a map of the First Addition to Newport Mesa
Tract recorded in Miscellaneous Slap Book 8, Page 61, Records of
Orange County, California; thence southeasterly along the south-
westerly line of Lot 1014 as shown upon said map to the south-
west corner thereof; thence easterly along the southerly lime
of said Lot 1014, Lot 9140 Lot 814, Lot T14, and Lot 614 to the
southeast corner of said Lot 614, as said lots are shown upon said
map of First Addition to Newport Mesa Tract, thence southwesterly
along the southeasterly line of Lot T15 and Lot T16 as shown upon
said map of First Addition to Newport Mesa Tract to a point of an
intersection with a line lying southwesterly of, parallel to, and

distant 60 ,0.00 feet from the southwesterly line of that certain
parcel of land granted to the City of Newport Beach by Heed dated
Jcamary 29, 1919 and recorded in Book 330, Page 22 of Deeds,
Records of said Orange County; thence southeasterly along said
parallel line to a polat of intersection with the.northweaterly
line of the 60 foot right of way as deeded to the State of
California and recorded in Book 681, Page 248 of official Records
of said orange County, said point lying in the boundary line of
the City of Newport Beach; thence northeasterly along said north -
westerly line and along said City boundary line to an Sntersectiom
of the southwesterly line of the aforementioned parcel of land
granted to the City of Newport Beachp thence nortumoterly along
said southwesterly line, and along said City boundary line to
the most westerly corner of the said parcel of land granted to
the City of Newport Beach; thence northeasterly along said City
boundary line to an angle point in said boundary line, said
angle point being the point of intersection of the northwesterly
line of said parcel and the easterly prolongation of the norther
line of the aforementioned Lot 614; thence continuing westerly
along the boundary line of the City of Newport Beach to the
point of beginning.
SECTION 2: That said territory hereby is designated
and Identified for such election purposes and for use upon the
ballots at such election as "superior .,venue .,nnex ".
- SECTION 3: Notice is hereby given that on the
day of 199 o , at the hour of 7 :30
p.m., In the Council Chambers of the City Hall iri the City of
Newport Beach, any person owning -real property within said terri-
tory so proposed to be annexed and having my objection to the
proposed annexation mW-y appear before said City Council and show
cause why such territory- should not t•e so annexed. ouch protest
must be in writing and shall state the name or navies of the
owner or owners of the property affected by such annexation
and the location and area of such property in general terms. If
It be found that a majority protest has not been made as
prescribed in Section 35121 of the California Government Code,
further proceedings shall be taken in accordance with the law
for the holding of such special election.
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution and cause the same to be published
In the Newport Harbor .Ensign once a week for the two weeks prior
to the said hearing.
