RESOLUTION NO. 4547
APPLYING FOR AN ALLOTMENT
UNDER CHAPTER 20* STATUTES
of 1946
WHEREAS, the State of California* under Chapter 20*
statutes of 1946, (First Extra Session)* as amended* has
appropriated funds for allotment to provide for financial
assistance to Local Agencies* defined therein as counties,
cities and counties* or cities* so that they may engage in a
large public works construction program in order to prevent
and alleviate unemployment; and
WHERMSO the City of Newport Beach* hereinafter designated
"Local Agency" desires to apply for an allotment of State aid
for the construction of a public works project under said Act;

WHEREAS* an application to the State Director of Finance
for such an allotment has been prepared and presented to this
Legislative Body for consideration; and
WHEREAS, Local Agency has made provisions for paying that
portion of the cost of the project not requested as an allotment
from the State;
NOW, THEREFORE* BE IT RESOLVED, that Local Agency submit
the aforesaid application for State aid for construction of a
public works project to the Director of Finance* requesting an
allotment of Two Thousand Four Hundred and Ninety -six dollars
and 89/100 Dollars (62 *496.89), or an allotment of such amount
as may be allotted by the State Allocation Board;
BE IT FURTHER R£SOLVED,that Local Agency hereby certifies
that the total estimate of cost to be paid for the construction
of Submarine Water train for which Local Agency is making
application under said Act is Seventy -eight thousand and 00 /100
($789000); and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Local Agency hereby requests

the State to pay the State's share of the total actual cost of
construction of the project for which Local Agency is making
application for aid;
BE IT FUR.TRER RESOLVED' that for the purpose of this
requests Jo B. Webb, City engineer, City Hall, Newport Beach,
California, be, and he hereby is designated as the authorised
agent of Local Agency, and is hereby authorised and directed
to sign the herein mentioned application of Local Agency and
to submit the same to the State Director of Finance, together
With a certified statement of the total estimated cost to be
paid for construction of the project herein mentioned and such
other information as may be required; and said authorized agent
is further authorised and directed as representative of Local
Agency to conduct all negotiations and conclude all arrange-
ments, with either the State Allocation Board or the Director
of Finances including requests for payment of the State's share
of the cost of the construction of the aforementioned public
works project.
The above and foregoing Resolution No. 4847 was passed
at a regular meeting of the City council of the City of Newport
Beach held on the 11th day of September, 1956, by the following
roll call vote, to wits
