RESOLUTION NO. 4984
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT REACH AUTHORI7TNC THE CONSTRUCTION OF
WATER MAINS BY CITY E?ITILOY75
WHEREAS, i.t Is necessary to replace water mains to serve Balboa
Coves area, consisting of 960 feet of water line; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the facilities be installed as quickly
and efficiently as possible; and
WHEREAS, the total cost of the improvement exceeds the sum of
$3,000.00; and
WHEREAS, based upon estimates approved by the City Manager, it
appears that the work in question can be performed more economically by the
City with its own employees;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council declare and
determine that in its opinion, based upon said estimates approved by the
City Manager, the construction work consisting of replacing a 22" water main
with a 4" water main may be performed more economically by the City with its
own employees.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works is
authorized and directed to proceed with said work consisting of the
replacement of said water main as described above.
This Resolution was adopted by at least five (5) affirmative votes
of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting held
on the 27th day of April 7.959, by the following vote, to wit-
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart, Lorenz, Somers,
Kingsley, Atkinson, Higbie, Stoddard

I, MARGERY SCHROUDER, City Clerk of the City of Newport
Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records
of the City of Newport Beach filed and waintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 4984 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 27th day of April 1959, by the following
vote, to wits
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart, Lorenz, Somers, Kingslex,
Atkinson, Higbie, Stoddard
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None
