RESOLUTION NO. 5069
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A TECHNICAL
OIL ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City receives revenues from certain leases
and contracts for the production of oil and gas on City property;
and
WHEREAS, a Technical Oil Advisory Committee has hereto-
fore been formed pursuant to resolutions numbered 4398 and 4576;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide for the
continuance of said committee under the following terms and condi-
tions;
NOW,
, BE IT RESOLVED:
There is hereby established a Technical Oil Advisory Com-
mittee of the City of Newport Beach consisting of three (3) members
to be appointed by the City Council who shall serve at the pleasure
of the City Council and without compensation.
The duties of the committee shall be to become familiar
with oil leases or contracts in which the City may be a party or
have an interest, act in an advisory capacity to the City Manager,
and make written reports and recommendations as requested by the
City Manager.
The term of each member shall be four (4) years and
until his successor is appointed; provided, however, that the
members first appointed hereunder shall classify themselves by lot
so that the term of one shall expire on June 30, 1963, one on
June 30, 1962, and one on June 30, 1961. Any appointment to fill
an unexpired term shall be for the remainder of such term.
As soon as practicable following the first day of July of
each year, the committee shall meet and select one of its members
chairman for the ensuing year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that resolutions numbered 4398 ai
4576 are rescinded.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 10th day of
August, 1959, by the following vote, to wit:

the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
