1 RESOLUTION NO. 5129
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE GRADING OF
3 A PARKING LOT AT THE CITY -HALL
4
5 WHEREAS, it is necessary to provide a parking lot behind
6 the City Hall for the councilmen, commissioners, board members and
7 employees of the City; and
8 WHEREAS, it is necessary that such lot be prepared as
9 quickly and efficiently as possible; and
10 WHEREAS, the total cost will exceed the sum of $3,000;
11 and
12I WHEREAS, based upon estimates approved by the City
13 Manager, it appears that the filling, importing of base material,
14 grading, construction of lighting and curbing and preparation of
15 the surface for paving can be performed more economically by the
16 City with its own employees;
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
18 hereby declares and determines that in its opinion, based upon
19 said estimates approved by the City Manager, the work hereinabove
20 described may be performed more economically by the City with its
21 own employees.
22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
23 is authorized and directed to proceed with said work with City
24 employees.
25 This resolution was adopted by at least five (5) affirm -
26 ative votes of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a
27 regular meeting on the 23rd day of November, 1959, by the followin
28 vote, to wit:
