RESOLUTION NO. 5269
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING FEES.FOR THE USE OF
THE.BALBOA_PARKING.LOT
WHEREAS, the City has a parking lot southerly of Ocean
Front at Palm Street and Washington Street in Balboa; and
^WHEREAS, the City Council finds that parking fees should
be "charged for the use of such lot as hereinafter provided;
NOW, THEREFOREO BE IT RESOLVED:
1. From June 15 to September 15 of each year, parking
control shall be maintained on the Balboa lot and a daily parking
fee shall be charged for the use of-said lot, as follows:
Monday through Friday, except on holidays,
the parking fee shall be 25¢ per vehicle.
On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the
parking fee shall be 75¢ -per vehicle.
2. Annual vehicle passes for the use of the parking
facilities on the Balboa lot are hereby established and shall be
made available to the public for the remainder of the calendar
year 1960 and for each year thereafter. The fee for such pass
shall be $5.00 per vehicle for the remainder of 1960. Each sub-
sequent year the fee shall be $7.50 per vehicle. Each such pass,
when displayed in the lower right -hand corner of the windshield of
a vehicle; shall entitle a "person to park such vehicle on the
parking lot when the lot is open and parking space is available
therein. It shall not establish any priority for parking space.
Such passes shall be sold only in the Finance Department in the
City Hall during regular office 'hours.
3. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to charge fees not to exceed the daily fees herein established
after September 15 and before June 15 of any year on days when ther
are special events which result in a need for parking control on th
Balboa lot in order to assure orderly and efficient use of the lot.

lI The City Manager is also authorized to naive the fees
2 established herein where a special event is being held of a
3 charitable or civic nature and it is in the interest of the City
4 and the general public that fees not be charged for the use of
5 the parking lot in connection with said special event.
