2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING CERTAIN PROPERTY ACQUIRED
3 BY THE STATE PARK COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE STATE AND CITY
4 BEACH PARK AT CORONA DEL MAR

WHEREAS, the State Park Commission of the State of
7
California and the City of Newport Beach entered into a lease
8
agreement dated August 19, 1949, under which the State Park Com-
9
mission placed certain real property owned by said Commission,
10
now generally known as the Corona del Mar State and City Beach
11
Park, under the control, jurisdiction, care and maintenance of the
12
City for a period of fifty (50) years, with an option to extend
13
the terse for a like period of time; and
14
WHEREAS, paragraph 9 of said agreement provides that any
15
additional properties acquired by the State Park Commission in the
16
City of Newport Beach may be leased to the City under said agree -
17
ment under the same terms and conditions as therein contained when
18
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach by resolution re-
19
quests that said additional property be made a part of the lease
20
agreement and the State Park Commission by order approves the
21
inclusion of said properties within the lease agreement; and
22
WHEREAS, said State Park Commission has acquired the
23
real property hereinafter described adjoining said park; and
24
WHEREAS, it would be in the interest of the City and in
25
' the public interest to have said property included within said par
26
and controlled, maintained, and developed along with the other
27
property therein;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
29
the City of Newport Beach hereby requests that the real property
30
described as:

Block A -34, as shown on a map of Corona del Mar
recorded in Book 3, pages 41 and 42, of Miscel-

laneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California,

heretofore acquired by the State Park Commission, be made a part of
and included within the aforementioned lease agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
resolution be transmitted to the State Park Commission of the State
of California for consideration of the request hereby made.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon the approval of the
request by the State Park Commission the City of Newport Beach
assume the control, jurisdiction, care, and maintenance of said
and and develop the same along with the Corona del Mar State asad
City Beach Park.
