2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
• 3 EASEMENT FOR WATER LINE PURPOSES

5 WHEREAS, property within the City lying northerly of
6 Palisades Road between Acacia Street and the northeasterly exten -
7 sion of Birch Street is being developed as Tract No. 3201; and
8 WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Water District has a water Iii
9 along Palisades Road from which this area could most conveniently
10 be served with water; and
11 WHEREAS, Orange County has a water line connecting to
12 said Metropolitan Water District line to serve Orange County Air-
131 port; and
141 WHEREAS, it would be most convenient and economical to
15 make use of the connection to the Metropolitan Water District line
16 presently being used by Orange County; and
17 WHEREAS, an easement over a portion of the Orange County
181 Airport property is necessary in order to make use of this con-
19
nection; and
20
WHEREAS, a proposed easement has been prepared and sub -
21
mitted to the City which, if executed by both the County and the
22
City, would grant such an easement to the City of Newport Beach;
23
and
24
WHEREAS, it is to the interest of the-City to accept and
25
execute said easement;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
27
Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute said
28
easement over the northeasterly 20 feet of the southwesterly 70

1 feet of the northwesterly 34 feet of the southeasterly 64 feet of

Lot 143, Block 6 of Irvine's Subdivision as shown on a map thereof

recorded in Book 1, page BS, of Miscellaneous Maps of Orange County,

l) California, on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
2 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said easement be accepted
3 and the City Clerk is authorized and directed to execute and
4. attach a certificate of acceptance and consent to the recording of
5 said easement in the County Recorder's office.
6 ADOPTED this 12th day of December, 1960.
