RESOLUTION NO. 5381
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
-� 3 CERTAIN WATER MAINS IN.THE SHORE CLIFFS.AREA BY
CITY EMPLOYEES

5 WHEREAS, certain 6 -inch steel water main in the Shore
6 Cliffs area of the City is in need of replacement, the total length
7 of which approximates 2110 lineal feet; and
8 WHEREAS, it is necessary that the work be completed as
9 quickly and efficiently as possible; and
10 WHEREAS, the cost of the improvement exceeds the sum of
11 $3,000•, and
12 WHEREAS, based upon estimates approved by the City Man -
13 ager, it appears that the work in question can be performed and
14 completed more economically by the City with its own employees;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE.IT RESOLVED that the City Council
16 declare and determine that in its opinion, based upon estimates
17 approved by the City Manager, the.construction work consisting of
18 replacing approximately 2110 feet of 6 -inch steel water main with
19 8 -inch and 6 -inch transite water main may be performed more
20 economically by the City with its own employees.
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
22 is authorized and directed to proceed with and complete said work
23 consisting of the replacement of said water main as described above
24 This resolution was adopted by at least five (5) affirm -

25 ative votes of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a
26 regular meeting held on the 13th day of March, 1961, by the
27 following vote, to wit:
