RESOLUTION N0. 5383
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING A CORPORATE REPRESENTATIVE
FOR THE PROSECUTION OF COLLECTION MATTERS IN SMALL
CLAIMS COURT
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, a municipal corporation, that it is desirable and
necessary to appoint an agent of the City to act for and on behalf
of the City of Newport Beach in the Small Claims Court of the
Newport Beach Judicial District, County of Orange, State of Cali-
fornia; and
WHEREAS, it appears that George Pappas, Dorothy Palen,
and Elizabeth Macdonald, all employees of the City of Newport
Beach, are suitable for such appointment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that George Pappas,
Dorothy Palen, and Elizabeth Macdonald be and are hereby appointed
to represent and appear for the City of Newport Beach in the law-
ful process of any and all claims filed in said court, and they
are further authorized and empowered to accept service of process
issued by said court in matters over which said court has juris
diction for and on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
