1 RESOLUTION NO, 5402
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH OPPOSING THE ENACTM7 OF
3 STATE LEGISLATION TO INCLUDE TERRITORY WITHIN
THE CITY OF PIMPORT BEACH IN ORANGE COUNTY
4 WATER DISTRICT
6 WHEREAS, Senate Bill.1370 has been introduced in the
7 State Legislature which, if enacted, would add territory within
8 the City of P7ewport Beach to the Orange County Water District, and
9 WHEREAS, such property within the City would thereupon
10 become subject to taxation by said District; and
11 WHEREAS, any benefit to be realized now or in the im-
12 mediate future by property within the City because of inclusion
13 within said District is so remote that it would be inequitable to
14 have the same included at this time;
15 19048, TMIRMFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
16 the City of Newport Beach is opposed to the enactment of Senate
17 I Bill 1370 with any provisions that would include territory within
18 the City of Newport Beach in the Orange County Water District.
19 BE IT FURT:ER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution
20 be sent to the Honorable John Murdy, Senator, and the Honorable
21 Bruce Sumner, Assemblyman, from this District.
