2 A RESOLUTIO14 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH OPPOSING THE ADOPTION OF
3 STATE LEGISLATION WHICH WOULD INCLUDE TERRI-
TORY WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF
4 NEWPORT BEACH IN THE ORANGE COUNTY WATER
DISTRICT

WHEREAS, Seagate Bill 1372 has been introduced in the
State Legislature which may be enacted to include territory within
the boundaries of the City of Newport Beach in the Orange County
Water District; and
WHEREAS, said property within the City would thereupon
become subject to taxation by said District; and
WHEREAS, there are no immediate benefits to be realized
by said property by the inclusion in Orange County Water District
and it would, therefore, be inequitable to include said territory
at this time;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach is opposed to the adoption of said
Senate Bill 1372 in any form that would include territory within
the boundaries of the City of Newport Beach in the Orange County
Water District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution
be sent to the Honorable John Murdy, Senator, and the Honorable
Bruce Sumner, Assemblyman, from this District.
