A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE
1960 -61 STREET RESURFACING PROGRAM AND THE
IMPROVEMENT OF THE BALBOA PARKING LOT.
AREAS, pursuant to the Notice Inviting Bids for work
consisting of the 1960 -61 street resurfacing program and the
improvement of the Balboa Parking Lot in the City of Newport
in accordance with the plans and specifications heretofore ad,
bids were received on the 8th day of June, 1961, and publicly
opened and declared; and
AREAS, it appears that the lowest responsible bidder
therefor is S. J. Cook & Sons, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the bid of S. J.
Cook & Sons, Inc., in the amount of $42,766.07 be accepted and
that the contract for the construction work be awarded to said
bidder.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract in accordance
with the specifications, bid and this award on behalf of the City
of Newport Beach, and that the City Clerk be directed to furnish
an executed copy to the successful bidder.
ADOPTED this 12th day 1961.

regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 12th day of June 19 61 by the following
vote, to wit:

Lorenz, Somers
