2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
3 A GRANT DEED

5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
6 publicly invited bids for the purchase of surplus City property
7 consisting o£:
8 Lot 11, Block 53, River Section, in the city of Newport Beach,
county of Orange, state of California, as per map recorded in
9 book 4 page 25 of Miscellaneous Naps.. in the office of the
county recorder of said county and that portion of Section 29,
10 Township 6 South, Range 10 West of the San Bernardino meridian;
according to an official plat of said land filed in the
11 District Land Office, August 4, 1890, described as follows:

Beginning at the northeasterly corner of Lot 11; thence
westerly along the northeasterly line of said Lot 11 to
13
the northwesterly corner thereof; thence northeasterly
along the northeasterly prolongation of the northwest -
14
erly line of said Lot 11 to its intersection with the
line of ordinary high tide of the Pacific Ocean in New -
15
port Bay designated as "SOUTH LINEB1 in final decree
entered August 22, 1928.in Superior Court Action 23686,
16
a certified co0y being recorded September 16, 1928 in
book 201 page 253, Official Records; thence southeast -
17
erly along said "SOUTH LINE" to its intersection with
the northeasterly prolongation of the southeasterly line
18
of said Lot 11; thence southwesterly along said north-
easterly prolongation to the point of beginning.

EXCEPTING therefrom the property described as follows:

Beginning at the southeasterly corner of said Lot 11;

thence westerly along the southwesterly line of said
lot to the southwesterly corner of said lot; thence

northeasterly along the northwesterly line of said lot
a distance of 91.95 feet; thence easterly on a direct
23
line to a point of intersection with the southeasterly
line of said Lot 11 said point of intersection being
24
northeasterly of an'd distant 95 feet from the southeast-
erly corner of said Lot 11; thence southwesterly along
25
said southeasterly line a distance of 95 feet to the
point of beginning;

WHEREAS, bids were received by the City Council on

May 22, 1961, at which time Ernest J. Ballif and Kathryn I. Ballif
30
were the high bidders for the purchase of said property; and

WHEREAS, the bid of said high bidders was accepted by
32
the City and the property ordered sold by the City Council;

1 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
2 Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute a grant
• 3 deed on behalf of the City of Newport Beach granting the above
4 described real property to said high bidders or to the person
8 designated by them in writing.
