2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
3 A GRANT DEED

5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
6 publicly invited bids for the purchase of surplus City property
7 consisting of:
8 Lot 14 in Block 48 in River Section, city of Newport Beach,
county of Orange, state of California, as per map thereof
9 recorded in book 4 page 25 of Miscellaneous Maps, in the
office of the county recorder of said county and that
10 certain parcel of land situated in Section 26, Township 6
South, Range 10 West, San Bernardino meridian, according to
11 an official plat of said land filed in the District Land
Office, August 4, 1890, in the city of Newport Beach, county
12 of Orange, state of California, described as follows:

Beginning at the northeast corner of said Lot 14 in
Block 48 of said River Section; thence northwesterly
14
along the northeasterly line of said Block 48, to the
northwest corner of said Lot 14; thence northeasterly
15
along the northeasterly prolongation of the northwest-
erly line of said Lot 14 to its intersection with the
16
line of ordinary high tide of the Pacific Ocean in
Newport Bay as designated as "SOUTH LINE ", in final
17
decree entered August 22, 1928 in.Superior Court
Action 23686, a certified copy thereof being recorded
18
September 16, 1928 in book 201 page 253, Official
Records; thence southeasterly along said south line
19
to its intersection with the northeasterly prolongs-
tion of the southeasterly line of said Lot 14; thence
20
southwesterly along said northeasterly prolongation to
the point of beginning.

EXCEPTING therefrom the southwesterly 127 feet measured from
22
the southwesterly line of said Lot 14.

RESERVING an easement for alley purposes across the north-
easterly 7.5 feet of the southwesterly 154.5 feet measured
24
from the southwesterly line of said Lot 14;

and
WHEREAS, bids were received by the City Council on
26
May 22, 1961, at which time Frank C. Cortese and Patrick O'Connor
27
were the high bidders for the purchase of said property; and

WHEREAS, the bid of said high bidders was accepted by

the City and the property ordered sold by the City Council;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City

Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute a grant

deed on behalf of the City of Newport Beach granting the above
described real property to said high bidders or to the person
designated by them in writing.
