2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
• 3 AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY
AND THE PACIFIC TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH COMPANY

5 WHEREAS, Southern California Edison Company and The
6 Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company have been rendering electri,
7 service and telephone service to residents of certain territory in
8 the City of Newport Beach known as Tract No. 907, which tract
9 includes P1Lido Isle`o, through the use of an underground conduit
10 system owned by the City, under certain leases which have now
11 expired; and
12 WHEREAS, all parties desire the continuation of such
13 service and the use of said underground conduit system is necessary
14 therefor; and
15 WHEREAS, an agreement has been presented to the City
16 Council of the City of Newport Beach providing for the use by said
17 utilities companies of said underground conduit system for a period
18 of ten years from the date thereof, and the City Council has con -
19 i sidered the terms and conditions of said agreement and found them
20 to be fair and equitable;
21 NOw, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said agreement betweei
22 the City, Southern California Edison Company, and The Pacific Tele-
23 phone and Telegraph Company be approved, and the Mayor and City Cle�
24 are authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of the
25 City of Newport Beach.
