RESOLUTION NO. 5511
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY GObNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NE&1PCRT BEACH PROHIBITING PARKING ALONG T'�E SOUT 1
SIDE OF A PO 'RTION OF PACIFIC COAST HIGI-MAY
WHEREAS, Section 3272 of the Newport Beach M:unicipal
Code provides that the city traffic engineer shall sign or Bark
any place where he determines it is necessary to prohibit parking
in order to eliminate an unusual traffic hazard, and when so signed
or marked no persons shall park a vehicle at any such place; and
TxMMEAS, Section 22506 of the Vehicle Code provides that
local authorities nay by resolution prohibit the parking of
vehicles on a state :Highway if such resolution is first submitted
to and approved by the Department of Public Works; and
WHE MI S, the city traffic engineer has determined that
it is necessary to prohibit parking along that portion of Pacific
Coast Highway hereinafter particularly described in order to
eliminate an unusual traffic hazard;
NOW, rHZR FOrEa, BE IT RERSOLVED that parking be prohibitedi
along the south side of Pacific Coast Highway starting at a point
430 feet west of the center line of Marino Drive and from there
easterly along the south side of said highway to a point 2OO feet
east of said center line of Marino Drive as said Mariano Drive is
sho, m upon a map of Tract No. 1140 as recorded in Boo'_ 36, page 28,
of Miscellaneous Maps, records of Orange County, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said prohibition on parking
is subject to the approval in uniting of the Department of Public
Works of the State of California and that upon receiving such writ-
ten approval the traffic engineer be and is hereby authorized and
directed to sign and mark said area indicating that parking is
prohibited as provided in Section 3272 of the Neuport Beach Funici-
pal, ,Code.
