1 RESOLUTION NO. 5ZL5--
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH ADOPTING 'STANDARD.SPECIFICATIONS
3 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC-WORKS IN THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH.AND SETTING A FEE-FOR SUPPLYING
4 COPIES THEREOF TO THE PUBLIC

6 WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has prepared Stand -
7 and Specifications for the Construction of Public Works in the
8 City of Newport Beach consisting of the following sections: Section
9 1 entitled Definitions and Terms consisting of Subsections 1 -01
10 through 1 -14; Section 2 entitled Proposal Requirements and Condi-
11 Lions consisting of Subsections 2-01 through 2 -06; Section 3
121 entitled Award and Execution of Contract consisting of Subsections
13 3 -01 through 3 -03; Section 4 entitled Scope of Work consisting of
14 Subsections 4 -01 through 4 -05; Section 5 entitled Control of Work
15 consisting of Subsections 5 -01 through 5 -11; Section 6 entitled
16 Control of Materials consisting of Subsections 6 -01 through 6 -05;
17 Section 7 entitled Legal Relations and Responsibilities to the
18 Public consisting of Subsections 7 -01 through 7 -20; Section 8
19 entitled Prosecution and Progress consisting of Subsections 8 -01
20 through 8 -07; Section 9 entitled Measurements and Payments con -
21 sisting of Subsections 9 -01 through 9 -06; Section 10 entitled
22 Grading and Earthwork consisting of Subsections 10 -01 through 10 -11
23 Section 11 entitled Aggregate Base consisting of Subsections 11 -01
24 through 11 "04; Section 12 entitled Asphalt Paving consisting of
25 Subsections 12 -01 through 12 -09; Section 13 entitled Portland Ce-
26 went Concrete consisting of Subsections 1301 through 13 -08;
27 Section 14 entitled Reinforcing Steel consisting of Subsections
28 14 -01 through 14 -13; Section 15 entitled Concrete Curbs, Gutters,
29 Sidewalks, Driveways, and Cross - Gutters consisting of Subsections
30 15 -01 through 15 -08; Section 16 entitled Sanitary Sewers and
31 Appurtenances consisting of Subsections 1601 through 16 -16;
32 Section 17 entitled Storm Drains and Drainage Structures consisting

of Subsections 17-01 through 17407; Section 18 entitled Street
Lighting consisting of Subsections 18 01 through 18 -12; and Sect
19 entitled Water System consisting of Subsections 19-01 through
19 -11; and
WHEREAS, said Standard Specifications have been approved
by the City Manager; and
WHEREAS, it would be in the interests of the City of
Newport Beach and in the interest of the public to have said
Standard Specifications adopted by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that
said Standard Specifications be and are hereby adopted and that
the same shall hereafter apply to the construction of public works
in the City;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that three copies thereof shall
be kept on file in the office of the City Clerk for use and exami-
nation by the public and that copies thereof be made available to
the public at a cost of $2.00.

of the City of Newport Beach filed and maintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 5515 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 27th day of November , 1961 , by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Kingsley. Atkinson. Cook. Stoddard. Hart.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None
