• 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION OF
3 CERTAIN WATER MAINS IN THE.CLIFF HAVEN AREA BY
CITY EMPLOYEES

5 WHEREAS, certain water mains in the Cliff Haven area of
6 the City are in need of replacement, the total length of which
7 approximates 3,350 lineal feet; and
8 WHEREAS, it is necessary that the work be completed as
9� quickly and efficiently as possible; and
10 WHEREAS, the cost of the improvement exceeds the sum of
11 $3,000; and
12 WHEREAS, based upon estimates approved by the City
13 Manager, it appears that the work in question can be performed and
14 completed more economically by the City with its own employees;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
16 declare and determine that in its opinion, based upon estimates
17 approved by the City Manager, the construction work consisting of
18 replacing approximately 1,250 feet of 8 -inch water main and
19 approximately 2,100 feet of 6 »inch water main may be performed

201 more economically by the City with its own employees.
2111 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works
22 is authorized and directed to proceed with and complete said work
23 consisting of the replacement of said water main as described above
24 This resolution was adopted by at least five (5) affirm
25 ative votes of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach at a
26 regular meeting held on the 11th day of December, 1961, by the
