1 RESOLUTION NO. 5588
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE
3 OF PARKING METERS .

5 WHEREAS, the City needs parking meters to install on 15th
6 Street and in the center strip dividing Balboa Boulevard; and
7 WHEREAS, The Dual Parking Meter Company has submitted
8 a proposal to furnish said meters at a cost of $60,32 less $14 tra6
9 in allowance for each single mounted meter and at a cost of $98.58
10 less $15 trade -in allowance for each double mounted meter, to be
11 paid from 507. of the gross revenue from said meters; and
12 WHEREAS, itis found to be in the best interests of the
13 City to accept said proposal and execute a contract for the purchase
14 of the meters needed, subject to the City's right to return said
15 meters at any time between 90 and 150 days following the completion
16 of delivery thereof at a cost to City of 50% of the gross revenue
17 during their retention;
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the proposal of The
19 Dual Parking Meter Company is hereby accepted and the Mayor and
20 City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract for the
21 purchase of said parking meters in accordance with the City's
22 specifications and the proposal submitted thereunder.
