HomeMy WebLinkAbout5699 - River Avenue Improvements.: , - T =. • RESOLUTION NO. 5699 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE WORK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION NO. 5693, ADOPTED ON THE 26th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1962, IN THE MATTER OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS IN RIVER AVENUE, ALLEY AND CERTAIN OTHER STREETS AND EASEMENTS IN SAID CITY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, pursuant to the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Parts 1, 2 and 3 of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: That the public interest and convenience require the work hereinafter mentioned to be done, and therefore the said i City Council hereby orders the following work to be done and improvements to be made in said City, to wit: The construction of certain grading, pavement,, 1 base, curb, gutter, sanitary sewers, sewer laterals, water mains, water service connections, alley approach, fire hydrant, storm drain, concrete block wall and chain link fence, together with appurtenances and appurtenant work in River Avenue, Alley and certain other streets and easements, all as more particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 5693, passed and adopted by the City Council of said City on the 26th day of November, 1962, and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City. For further particulars reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 5693 and to the plans and drawings for said improvement on file in the office of the City Engineer and the City Clerk of said City, and to the specifications for sand work heretofore adopted by said City Council and on file -1- .L • in the office of the City Engineer and the City Clerk of said City, and all of said plans, drawings and specifications here- tofore approved by the City Council of said City are incorporated herein and made a part hereof and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of said work. Said City Council has determined and declared that the contemplated work and improvement heretofore mentioned was in the opinion of said City Council of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and said City Council has made the expense of said work chargeable upon a district. For a particular description of said district, reference is hereby made to said Resolution of Intention No. 5693. Said City Council has determined and declared that serial.bonds bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6 %) per annum and extending over a period ending nine (9) years from the 2nd day of January next succeeding the next,S;ptember 1st following their date, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the "Improvement Act of 1911 ",. being Part 5 of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, to s represent each assessment of Fifty Dollars ($50.00), or more, remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant. All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through pursuant to an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 1911 ", being Parts 1, 2 and 3 of Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to post conspicuously for five (5) days on or near the Council Chamber door of said City Council, in the manner and form required by said Code, a Notice Inviting Sealed Bids or proposals for doing the work herein ordered, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to -2- c + 0 publish twice in THE NEWPORT HARBOR ENSIGN, a newspaper published, and of general circulation in said City and hereby designated by said City Council for that purpose, a Notice inviting such proposals or bids for doing the said work and referring to the specifications on file_ APPROVED and ADOPTED this 17th day of December, 1962. mss.
