RESOLUTION N0: 5701
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A
CONTRACT
WHEREAS, a written contract has been prepared entitled
"AGREEMENT #1405" in which the City and the State of California are
parties, providing for the construction of a.traffic control signal
system and highway lighting at the intersection of Newport Boulevard,
Westminster Avenue, and Hoag Memorial Hospital road, under which the
City and State would share the cost of said signal system and high-
way lighting construction and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the contract provides that the City would pay
approximately one- fourth of said cost and the State of California
would pay approximately three - fourths of said cost since three legs
of said intersection are within the State Highway right -of -way; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has examined the terms and con-
ditions.of said contract and found the same to be fair and equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council here-
by approves the terms of said contract and the Mayor and City Clerk
are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on behalf of
the City.
