S1 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF T,x.M" CITY
OF ATA PORT B H CONFIRMING REPORT OF STREET
SUPERINTENDENT ON kMED AMTEKE1.TT
WHEMAIS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 4 of Article VII of the
Newport Beach Munici?al ;ode, by Resolution No. 5567 declared
weeds on certain streets, sidewalks, parkways, and private prop-
erty in said City to be a public nuisance, and designated the
Street Superintendent of the City of Newport Beach as the person
to give notice to destroy such weeds, which notice was given by
him in accordance with the above mentioned chapter and article of
the Municipal Code; and.
WMIEAS, pursuant to said notice a public hearing was
held to allow protests to the removal of such weeds and, all
protests having been withdrawn or overruled, the City Council
ordered the Street Superintendent to proceed with the abatement of
weeds; and
WMREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Newport
Beach kept an account of the cost of abatement and, upon the com-
pletion of said used abatement, rendered an itemized report in
.xiting to the City Council showing the cost of removing the weeds
on or in front of each separate lot or parcel of land; and
GinIMMS, before the said itemized report was submitted to
the City Council, the Street Superintendent posted a copy of it
for at least three days on the bulletin board at the City Hall,
with a notice that the 26th day of January, 1963, at 7:30 P. M.
had been fixed as the time, and the Council Chambers in the City
Hall of the City of Newport Beach had been fixed as the place, for
submission of said ,report to the City Council for confirmation ane
for hearing objections to the acceptance of said u ork and the
assessment of the costs therefor against the parcels of land. from

which the weed nuisance had been abated, and the required notice
was given as ?provided for by Section 7424 of the bleeyport Beach
Municipal Code; and

and assessment of the costs therefor were submitted to the City

hereto as Exhibit "A2' and made a part hereof, be and the same is
hereby confirmed and tlae cost of abating the nuisance its front of
or capon the various parcels as confirmed shall constitute a special
assessment against the respective parcels of land and shall be a
lien thereon until paid,.
