2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING A REDISTRICTING
3 COMMITTEE-

WHE REA S, the City of Newport Beach is divided into seven
6
councilmanic districts; and
7
WHEREAS, Section 1005 of the Charter provides that in
8
1959 and each fourth year thereafter the City Council shall appoint
9
a committee to study and report to the City Council on the advis-
10
ability of redistricting the City by changing and redefining the
11
boundaries of any or all of the seven districts; and
12
WHEREAS, said committee was appointed in 1959 and the
13
City Council desires to follow the provisions of said Section 1005;
14
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a committee be
15
appointed to -study and report to the City Council as required by
16
said section consisting of the following persons:

J. Leslie Steffensen, Chairman
18
George N. Engelke
19
Marion C. Forrest
20
Tom W. Henderson
21
Roland Wright
22
Narco P. Anich
23
James D. Ray
24
