RESOLUTION NO. 5755
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH.ESTABLISHING RATES FOR TAXICABS
WHEREAS, Section 6610 of the Municipal Code provides that
the City Council shall by resolution establish a schedule of rates
applicable to all taxicabs operating in the City; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5061 has heretofore been adopted
establishing said rates; and
WHEREAS, a request for a change in the rates has been
made by the taxicab operator holding a certificate of public
convenience and necessity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has held a public hearing and
considered said application and finds that the following rates are
reasonable and necessary;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
hereby establishes the following schedule of rates;
504 for the first one- quarter mile
10¢ for each additional one- quarter mile
$5.00 per hour waiting time
No charge for additional passengers
50¢ service charge for cancellation of taxicab
after cab is dispatched
No charge for the first 3 minutes after driver
contacts passenger
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 5061 is hereby
rescinded.
