RESOLUTION NO. 5758
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING SENATE BILL NO. 344
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 344 provides for a fair and
equitable method of obtaining additional financing for the im-
provement of city streets and county roads; and
WHEREAS, present sources of revenue available to cities
and counties are inadequate to correct existing street and road
deficiencies; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 344 makes available a greater
percentage of gas tax funds for maintenance of streets than has
previously been permitted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach does hereby express its support of
Senate Bill No. 344 and respectfully requests that the Legislature
of the State of California enact such proposed legislation into
law.
