HomeMy WebLinkAbout5804 - Classification Plan & Salary Ranges & RatesWWC.mec 6/25/63 RESOLUTION N0, _TS� A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ESTABLISHING A CLASSIFICATION PLAN AND SALARY RANGES AND RATES AND ADOPTING SCHEDULES THEREFOR WHEREAS, Section 2200 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code, entitled "Classification and Compensation Plans and Uniform Personnel Policies ", authorizes the City Council on recommendation of the City Manager to establish by resolution the classification of positions in City employment and a salary range and rates for each class; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5641 adopted schedules designating such classifications and salary ranges; and WHEREAS, the City Manager, on the basis of his study of the classification plan and salary ranges and rates, has recommended adjustments by the adoption of new schedules; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that effective July 1, 1963, Resolution No, 5641 and all resolutions amending said resolution or schedules adopted thereby are rescinded and that, pursuant to Section 2200 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code, Schedule "A" dated July 1, 1963, setting forth the salary range numbers, number of positions in each class authorized as of July 1, 1963 (the limitation on the number of positions is established by the budget as it may be amend- ed), classes, monthly salary equivalents, and special rates, Schedule "B" dated July 1, 1963, setting forth the classes by series and salary range numbers therefor, Schedule "C" dated July 1, 1963, set- ting forth salary range numbers and monthly equivalents of biweekly salary rates, and Schedule "D" dated July 1, 1963, setting forth the biweekly salary rates and hourly, daily and monthly equivalents of the biweekly salary rates, all attached hereto, be and are hereby adopted, and the classes, salary range numbers, biweekly salary rates, special rates, said hourly equivalents, daily equivalents, rescinded and the provisions thereof shall continue in effect as therein stated except the salary stated therein shall '�,e changed rom $1,030 to $1,053 per month. and monthly equivalents shown therein be and are hereby established. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 5797 is not rescinded and the provisions thereof shall continue in effect as therein stated except the salary stated therein shall '�,e changed rom $1,030 to $1,053 per month. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the biweekly pay period here- tofore established be continued. ADOPTED this –e—_ day of 19630 _. Police personnel, excluding clerical employees, assigned to Detective Bureau receive following additional biweekly ccmipensatione Police Officer and Policewoman,: $14.40; Police Sergeant, $16.80; Police Captain, $18.46. (3) Off -Duty employees only. (4) Limited to Police and Lifeguard personnel occupying permanent positions. (5) Limited to Police and Fire personnel assigned to work as policemen or firemen during their off -duty hours for private employers. (6) Compensated by City's provision of housing and utilities. (7) In addition to salary, compensation includes City - provided housing and utilities.
