2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE 'CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH INCLUDING BALBOA BOULEVARD FROM
3 WEST COAST HIGHWAY TO "G" STREET IN THE -CITY'S
MAJOR CITY STREET SYSTM

5 WHEREAS, the provisions of Sections 2050 to 2055, Chapter
6 2, Division 3, of the Streets and Highways Code provide that each
7 city council shall select a system of major city streets, on the
8 basis of greatest general city importance, subject to the approval
9 of the State Department of Public Works; and
10 WIMMIS, streets may be included in or excluded from the
11 city system of major city streets subject to the approval in each
12 case of the State Department of Public Works; and
13 WHEREAS, it is desired to revise the existing system to
14 conform to present and anticipated traffic patterns;
15 NOT-, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
16 City of Newport Beach that the following named street is selected
17 as a major city street to be included in the major city street
18 system:
19 Balboa Boulevard from west Coast Highway to
20 99G99 Street.
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the State of California,
22 Department of Public Works, is hereby requested to approve the
23 above revision to the major city street system.
24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all prior resolutions, or
25 portions thereof, establishing major city streets in conflict with
26 this resolution are hereby repealed; provided, however, that this
27 resolution does not modify or affect the City's Vaster Plan.
28 ADOPTED this 22d day of July 1963.
