RESOLUTION NO. 6108
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING A CITY
MANAGER
WHEREAS, F. Robert Coop resigned from the office of City Manager
effective December 11, 1964, which created a vacancy in that office, and
WHEREAS, the City Council appointed Joseph T. Devlin, Public Works
Director of the City, to serve as Acting City Manager in addition to his
position as Public Works Director until the City Council appoints a new City
Manager; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is now desirous of making a permanent
appointment to the office of City Manager and has the power and duty to fix
the salary of City Manager;
NOW, THEREFORE,, BE IT RESOLVED that Joseph T. Devlin, Public
Works Director and Acting City Manager, is hereby relieved of his duties as
Acting City Manager, effective the 22(d) day of March, 1965;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Harvey Leslie Hurlburt be and he is
hereby appointed as City Manager of the City of Newport Beach effective the
22(d) day of March, 1965 at the salary of $18,500 for fiscal year for full -time
employment, payable in monthly, semimonthly, or biweekly installments as
is most convenient in the ordinary course of the preparation of the City's
payroll.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 6082 be and the same is
hereby rescinded effective the 22(d) day of March, 1965.
ADOPTED this 16th day of February, 1965.
