2i A RESOLUTION) OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE 1964 -
31 1965 WEED ABATEMENT PROGRAM TO HAROLD WATTS

5 WHEREAS, pursuant to a motion adopted by the City Council
6 on February 23, 1965, ordering the Superintendent of Streets to
7 abate the public nuisance determined and declared.by Resolution No.
8 6104 or cause it to be abated by having the weeds described in said
9 resolution removed, informal bids were invited for the work for the
10 1964 -1965 weed abatement program of the City of Newport Beach and
11 such bids were received and opened on March 15, 1965; and
12 WHEREAS, it appears that the lowest responsible bidder
13 therefor is Harold Watts; and
14 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
15 the City of Newport Beach an Agreement for Weed Abatement providing
16 for Harold Watts to do and perform all the work for the 1964 -1965
17 weed abatement program of the City.at the unit prices set forth
18 therein, based on the informal bid of Harold Watts in the total
19 amount of $7,668.90, subject to the right of the City to vary the
20 number of parcels to be cleaned or the acreage to be cleaned;
21 NOW, 1THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the informal bid of
22 Harold Watts in the amount of $7,668.90 be accepted and that a
23 contract for such weed abatement work be awarded to said bidder.
24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are
25 hereby authorized and directed to execute said Agreement for Weed
26 Abatement in accordance with said informal bid, and that the City
27 Clerk be directed to furnish an executed copy to Harold Watts,
28 ADOPTED this 12th day of April, 1965.
