RESOLUTION NO. 6201
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NE4TPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN
AGREaXNT WITH THE COUNTY OF ORANGE FOR THE
I'MINTENANCE A14D OPERATION OF A CODJMUNICATION
SYSTMf<
WI&MEAS, the County of Orange owns, maintains and operates
a communication system for public safety communications for police,
fire and special emergency services; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable to have said County establish
and maintain remote dispatch facilities in and for the use of the
City for police purposes and to have the same maintained under a
licensed supervising technician of the County; and
r REAS, the County of Orange and the City of Newport
Beach are parties to a communications agreement effective August 1,
1959, providing for remote control facilities and other facilities
for police, fire and special emergency radio service; and
VAEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council a
new agreement between the County and the City providing for such
Facilities, which agreement would supersede the existing communica-
tions agreement; and
I•MREAS, the City Council has considered the terms and
conditions of the proposed agreement and found them to be fair and
equitable;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said agreement be
approved and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute the same on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
