2 A RESOLUTION OF TIM CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEaTPORT BEACH IN SUPPORT CF TIM . 01LO67ER COLORADO
3 RI 31M BASIN PRO ECT ACT"

5 WHEREAS, a bill entitled the "Lower Colorado River Basin
6 Project Act" has been introduced in the United States Congress; and
7 GU53REAS, the objectives of this legislation are to provide
8 a program for the further comprehensive development of the water
9 resources of the Lower Colorado River Basin and to provide for
10 additional water supplies in both the Upper and Lower Basins, while
11 protecting existing California water uses; and
12 IMMEAS, this legislation will also authorize programs
13 for the conservation of fish and wildlife and will have recreational
14 benefits for the entire Colorado River Basin; and
15 Z =jHERE S, this City Council believes that the enactment of
16 this legislation will serve the best interests of Southern Califora
17 nia and the entire Pacific Southwest;
18 NOS, THERE, FORE,
19 favors the enactment into
20 Protect Act ".
