RESOLUTION NO. 6245
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NMOORT BEACH DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN
THE CITY AS BOAT LAUNCHING AREAS
WHEREAS, Section 10202 of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code provides that no person shall launch or remove any vessel from
the waters of Newport Harbor over any public sea wall, sidewalk,
street end, or public property, except at locations where a
regular business of launching and hauling vessels is conducted
which has the necessary equipment to do such work or in areas
designated and posted for such purposes by the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that there is a
li need for public boat launching areas on Newport Harbor; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended to the City
IlCouncil that it designate the ends of 15th and 26th Streets where
the same abut Newport Harbor as public boat launching areas subject
to certain conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach as follows:
1. That the ends of 15th and 26th Streets where the
same abut Newport Harbor are hereby designated as public boat
launching areas subject to the following conditions:
(a) That any boat launched or recovered from
said launching areas shall be hand carried and shall
not exceed 12 feet in length.
(b) That no motor powered boats shall be launched
or recovered from said launching areas.
(c) That boats may be launched or recovered from
I said launching areas only during the following hours:
15th Street launching area — 8 A.M. to 7 P.M.
26th Street launching area v 6 A.M. to 9 P.M.
ADOPTED this 25th day of October 1965.
