1 RESOLUTION NO. 6260
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO
3 INCLUDE WITHIN THE .ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING
4 PROGRAM THE DEVELOPMENT OF JAMBOREE ROAD
5 WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to improve
6 Jamboree Road from Ford Road to Palisades Road; and
7 WHEREAS, Jamboree Road is an important artery in the
County of Orange and of general County interest; and

9 WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2
10 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a county, if it so
desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California
11

Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any city in the improvement, con -
13 struction or repair of a street within a city; and
14
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appro-
15 priate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road
16 Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1966 -1967 a sum of money for
17 the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the
18 County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway
19 Financing Program;
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
21 the City of Newport Beach hereby requests the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds
22
23 the amount of $195,000, said amount to be matched by funds from
24 said City, to be used to aid said City inthe improvement of
25 Jamboree Road from Ford Road to Palisades Road, said improvements
26 to be in accordance with the attached project statement;
27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of
28 the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said work
29 on Jamboree Road, in the manner provided, is in the general County
interest.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, by this Resolution, the
City of Newport Beach agrees with the basic concepts of the
Arterial Highway Financing program; and further agrees that its sha
of the cost of improvements and rights of way will be available for
the fiscal year 1966 -1967.
ADOPTED this 13th day of December, 1965.

PROJECT #138. A NEW PROJECT NOW IS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE THE EASTERLY HALF
