1 RESOLUTION NO. _
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN _
3 AMENDMENT T0. NATURAL.GAS CONTRACT
5 WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach, as Producer, and
6 Humble Oil & Refining Company, as Producer's Contractor and as
7 Gasoline Company, are parties to a natural gas contract dated
8 March 19, 1956, as amended, under which Humble Oil & Refining
9 Company receives and processes all natural gas produced from oil
10 wells on certain lands described therein; and
11 WHEREAS, Humble Oil & Refining Company has proposed a
12 reduction in the royalty rates payable under said contract which
13 has been reviewed with the City's petroleum consultant, Shepherd -
14 Pendleton, Limited, and determined to be reasonable; and
15 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council
16 an amendment to such natural gas contract reducing the royalties
17 payable to the City pursuant to paragraphs 8 and 9 of the natural
18 gas contract as more specifically set out in said amendment; and
19 WHEREAS, the amendment to natural gas contract has been
20 reviewed and found to be fair and equitable and it is in the inter -
21 est of the City to execute it;
22 NOVs THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
23 Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute the same on
24 behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
