RESOLUTION NO. 6354

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
2 NEWPORT BEACH LIMITING THE PARKING OF VEHICLES
ON CERTAIN PORTIONS.OF PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY

4 VIHEREAS, Section 3289 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
5 provides that when authorized signs are in place giving notice
6 thereof, no person shall stop, stand, or park any vehicle between
7 the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. of any day for a period of
8
time longer
than one (1) hour upon
such streets
or portions
9
thereof as
the City Council shall
designate by
resolution; and
10 WHEREAS. Section 22506 of the Vehicle Code provides that
11 local authorities may by resolution restrict the parking of
12 vehicles on a state highway of such resolution is first submitted
13 to and approved in writing by the Department of Public Works; and
14 WHEREAS, it is necessary to limit the parking of vehicles
15 as hereinafter provided;
16 NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the parking of
17
vehicles between
the hours of 8 :00 a.m.
and 6:00 p.m.
be
limited

to one (1) hour every day except Sundays
and holidays
on
the

northerly side of
Pacific Coast Highway
from Division
of
Highways

23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said restriction on parking
24 is subject to the approval in writing of the Department of Public
25 Works of the State of California and that upon receiving such
26 I written approval the city traffic engineer is authorized and
27 directed to appropriately sign and mark said areas to give notice
28 of such parking restriction.
29 ADOPTED this 9th day of May, 1966.
