1 RESOLUTION NO. 6402
P. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING FINANCIAL AID FROM THE
3 COUNTY OF ORANGE TO PAY FOR LIFEGUARD SERVICE ON CITY
BEACHES AND AUTHORIZING THE EZECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT
4 THEREFOR
5 WHEREAS, the public beaches in the City are used by
6 large numbers of County residents who are not residents of the City,
7 resulting in increased costs to the City for maintenance and life -
8 guard services; and
9 TprMEAS, the estimated increase in cost to the City for
10 providing said services for the fiscal year 1966 -1967 is the sum
11 of $59,220; and
12 WHEREAS, an agreement has been presented to the City
13 Council in which Orange County agrees to pay the City $59,220 to
14 reimburse the City for said additional costs;
15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
16 the City of Newport Beach hereby requests that the County provide
17 financial assistance in the amount of $59,220 to reimburse the
18 City for said increased costs.
19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk
20 are hereby authorized and directed to execute said agreement on
21 behalf of the City.
