HomeMy WebLinkAbout6417 - Holiday LeaveTHSomec 7/7/66 RESOLUTION NO. 6417 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SUBSECTION C OF SECTION VI OF RESOLUTION NO. 5289 RELATING TO HOLIDAY LEAVE AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 5467 0 WHEREAS, Section VI of Resolution No. 5289 sets out leaves of absence provisions; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5467 amended subsection C of said Section VI relating to holiday leave; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to further amend said subsec- tion C as hereinafter provided; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that subsection C of Section VI of Resolution No. 5289 is amended to reade "C. Holidaz Leave. Subject to the provisions contained here n, the Following designated days and such other days or portions of days specified by motion of the City Council shall be observed As paid holidays by all employees in permanent positions except Police personnel, Fire personnel on 12 -hour shifts, and other personnel whose days off are other than Saturday or Sunday. For each designated holiday such personnel shall receive an extra day of vacation or equivalent pay, whichever in the judgment of the department head best serves the interests of the department. January 1 (New Year's Day) February Lincoln's Birthday February 22 (Washington's Birthday) May 30 (Memorial Day) July 4 Independence Day) First Monday in September. (Labor Day) September 9 (Admission Day) November 11 (Veterans' Day) Fourth Thursday in November (Thanksgiving Day) December 25 (Christmas) When a designated holiday occurs on Sunday, the follow - ing Monday will be observed instead. When a designated holiday occurs on a Saturday, all employees shall receive an additional vacation day for such holiday. It is the intent of this subsection that all City em- ployees in permanent positions receive the benefits of the same number of holidays each year." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 5467 is hereby rescinded. ADOPTED this.251b day of .duly, 1966.
