III RESOLUTION N0. 6425
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NE1gPORT BELCH AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SPECIAL
3 WATER MAIN PIPE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS
4 OF.SECTION 1110 OF THE CITY CHARTER.
5 WHEREAS, the City intends to construct a submarine
6 water main between Harbor Island and Linda Isle; and
7 VMLE AS, Section 1110 of the City Charter provides
8 in par as follows:
9 "The City Council, without advertising for bids, or
after rejecting bids, or if no bids are received, may declare
10 and determine that, in its opinion, based on estimates
approved by the City Manager, the work in question ma be
11 performed better or more economically by the City with its
own employees or the supplies or materials may be purchased
12 more economically on the open market, and after the adoption
of a resolution to this effect by at least five affirmative
13 votes of the Council may proceed to have said work done or
said supplies or materials purchased in the manner stated,
14 without further observance of the provisions of this
SectionY7;

1,7HEREAS, the City Manager has filed a written report
17
with the City Council estimating that the materials needed may be
18
purchased more economically on the open market;
19
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
20
1. The City Council finds that the materials described
21
herein may be purchased more economically on the open market.
22
2. The City Manager is directed to proceed to purchase
23
the materials needed without further observance of Section 1110 of
24
the City Charter.

Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said City Council held at the
