HomeMy WebLinkAbout6480 - Irvine-Tustin Avenues Improvement�r 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 rr 3/66 (12) RESOLUTION NO. 6480 A RESOLUTION OF TITS CITY COU14CIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE IMPROVEMENT OF IRVINE /TUSTIN AVENUES WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach desires to improve Irvine /Tustin Avenues from 22nd Street to University Drive; and WHEREAS, Irvine /Tustin Avenues are important arteries in the County of Orange and of general County interest; and WHEREAS, Article 2, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a county, if it so desires,to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any city in the improvement, construction or repair of a street within a city; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appro- priate action, provide in the County budget of the Special Road Improvement Fund for the Fiscal Year 1967 -1968 a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program; NODIs THEREFORE$ BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby requests of the County of Orange to allocate to sa the amount of $1+0,000, said amount to be said City, to be used to aid said City in Irvine /Tustin Avenues from 22nd Street to improvements to be in accordance with the ment. the Board of Supervisors Cd City from County Funds matched by funds from the improvement of University Drive, said attached project state- BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange is hereby requested to find that said Rork on Irvine /Tustin Avenues, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
